PAT files are also used by Synology Assistant, a program used to install firmware onto DSM devices. During the DSM device setup process, Synology Assistant requests a PAT installation file for the device. You can use the PAT file located on your Synology installation CD or a PAT file downloaded from Synology Download Center.

After plugging in your Synology network-attached storage (NAS) enclosure, it's actually relatively easy to connect to the unit through your web browser. Synology not only makes some of the best NAS for home, but also offers an external connection service that makes the whole process painless, and there's even software you can download and use if everything else fails.

Open Synology Find ( ) in an internet browser. This is the user interface which your computer uses to look for the connected NAS. When your device recognizes the NAS, it'll appear in the next window. If that's not the case, download the Synology Assistant and try again. Refresh the interface until it finds your NAS. Next, go to the configuration window.

  • Download Synology Assistant from the Synology Download Center. Select your ioSafe NAS product from the drop-down menu, then click on the Desktop Utilities tab to find the download.

  • Install Synology Assistant.

  • Follow the directions in this article from the Synology Assistant Knowledgebase.

The download and re-upload of files is managed by the Atlassian Companion app, which needs to be installed on each user's machine (not in the Confluence installation directory) to enable file editing.

To edit files, users need to install the Atlassian Companion app and have it running in the background. The first time a user clicks the Edit button in file preview, we prompt them to download and install the app. See Edit Files for details.

If an unauthenticated user tries to access these URLs directly, they would be redirected to the Confluence login screen. The wouldn't be able to access any content or download files while unauthenticated.

When a user edits a file, that file is also downloaded and saved to the Atlassian Companion folder on their computer. Files modified more than 60 days ago are automatically cleared when the Companion app restarts.

Overview: You can manually move your Sync folder to a new computer, to avoid having to re-download your files from the cloud when re-installing Sync. To do so you would copy the current Sync folder onto an external drive, connect the external drive to your new computer, and then copy the Sync folder from the external drive to the desired location on your new computer.

Content caching speeds up downloading of software distributed by Apple and data that users store in iCloud by saving content that local Mac computers, iOS and iPadOS devices, and Apple TV devices have already downloaded. The saved content is stored in a content cache on a Mac, and is available for other devices to retrieve without going out over the internet.

For example, when the first client on your network downloads a macOS update, the content cache keeps a copy of the update. When the next client on the network connects to the App Store to download the update, the update is copied from the content cache rather than from the App Store.

Also, if your Mac is in an environment where clients download large amounts of a wide variety of content, be sure to set the cache size limit high enough. This prevents the content cache from deleting cached data frequently, which may necessitate downloading the same content multiple times, thereby using more internet bandwidth.

I am trying to set up a new Synology DS713+ device. I use find.synology.com to find it on the network, and then click connect but every time I get ' connection failed, Please check your network settings'.

I initially started setting these up last year, then got sidetracked by other projects, so I can't remember if I had actually installed the second one, although it shows as not installed on synology web assistant, I thought I had started installing.

continuing, the "connection failed" error from the Synology assistant = network configuration error. I've tried setting up using auto and manual configs of ip address. My router "sees" the NAS but I cannot ping it.

Download Station is the best way to download anything from any source. Download Station will come in handy if you need a large file that takes a long time to download, such as an ISO file of a Linux distro.

Hello. I am your regular reader. I want to ask your advice. We have a small hotel (for 150 clients) The hotel is far from civilization, the Internet is only mobile (about 30-50Mbps) so the Internet is only for email and chats, and is connected to our Wi-Fi system (6 EAP265-620-670 access points, network 1 GB) At the moment, a computer with a video folder is installed, clients watch movies via VLC on smartphones (downloaded at low bitrate), in principle, nothing freezes. Now the question is: We need a local site where schedules, Hotel rules, etc. are literally 3-4 pages long, and there is also a view of this video. What would you advise? Which NAS will pull 150 low-resolution video views on smartphones through a single local site. Well, for example, Synology DiskStation DS720+ will be able to meet our needs? Synology DiskStation DS220+ will be weak, I guess

To further complicate the matter, macOS does not conveniently ask you to grant access to an application when that application tries to access that data. Instead, you're required to complete a long list of steps to pre-approve the application. As a result, when you download an application specifically to back up your most precious data, that application can't back up that data until you specifically go out of your way to grant it access to that data.

Did I download the wrong redpill extension. I did not get the ueii file, and I have to remove the extension.gz which it came downlaoded from github. Do I need to get the uefi version? Everything else is the same and I even changedd controller=1

synology finder, found it, I got the countdown from 10 minutes... Then it just goes all the way down to zero, and says something is wrong and I reconnect again, and it just does it again. Can you please help me with this step? I'm so close!

Okay so weird. I closed the browser and forgot the ip. when in went to finds.synology.com, it wanted me to connect to it again and install everything again! But when i went to that direct IP with port 5000 it logged me right into DSM! Is this normal? 2ff7e9595c
